A muscular organ The heart is the most important organ of the body. It is located between the lungs and is protected by the ribcage and the sternum (breast bone). The heart is made up of cardiac muscle and because it is an involuntary muscle it works on own, throughout you life
Structure of the heart
The heart is divided into four chambers. The upper chambers are called atria (singular:atrium) and the lower chambers are called ventricles. There are Calvert between the atria and ventricles to prevent the back-flow of the blood. The left side of The heart is separated from the right side by a thick muscular wall called the septum. The walls of the ventricles are thicker than the walls of the atria. Why is it so? It is because the ventricles have to send the blood to the rest of the body. They need to push the blood cell without any delay
Internal structure of the heart Right atrium
1. Receives deoxygenated blood from the body
2. Send this deoxygenated blood to the right ventricle
Right ventricle
1. Receives deoxygenated blood from right atrium.
2. Sends it to the lungs through the pulmonary artery.
Lungs
1.the blood enters the lungs from the right ventricle.
2. Here the blood removes carbon dioxide and absorbs oxygen.
3. The lungs send this blood, which is now rich in oxygen to the left atrium through the pulmonary vein.
Left atrium
1. Receives blood full of oxygen from the lungs.
2. Sends it to the left ventricle.
Left ventricle
1. Receives blood full of oxygen from the left atrium.
2. Send it to all parts of the body through the aorta, the largest artery of the body.
Internal structure of the heart
The man I function of the heart is to pump the blood to all parts of the body . The heart itself also requires blood to perform it's function. The coronary artery supplies blood to the heart muscle. The right side of the heart receives blood from the body, which has more carbon dioxide and less oxygen. This blòòd is called deoxygenated blood. The left side of the heart receives the blood that is rice in oxygen and is called oxygenated blood.
The flow of blood in and our of the heart can be explained is steps.
